Derrick Coleman Suffering From Heart Arrythmia
Posted by TSUE on May 2, 2008
Derrick Coleman was hospitalized two weeks ago because of an irregular heart beat that began to plague him toward the end of his 10-year NBA career. At the moment he does not need to have a heart transplant according to his wife a former Nets executive. It may be a possibility down the road but for now his doctors are managing the condition. Their plan is to implant a defibrillator and monitor the results.
Coleman played at Syracuse University from 1986 to 1990 and still ranks second on the school’s all-time scoring list and first in rebounds. He was the No. 1 pick in the 1990 NBA Draft and played 15 pro seasons for the New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons.
For now Derrick is not in immediate danger which is a good sign. With the help of his family and friends I believe he will be just fine.

Marko Jaric was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He is the son of Srecko Jaric who is considered one of the greatest international basketball players ever. Originally an early entry candidate for the 1998 NBA Draft but withdrew his name from consideration to sign with Fortitudo Bologna. He did enter the NBA Draft in 2000 when he was selected as the 30th overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers. Jaric was traded to the Timberwolves in August 2005 along with Lionel Chalmers by the Clippers in exchange for Sam Cassell.
With this years NBA basketball season coming to an end, look for Marko spending more time in New York and LA (and getting used to life with constant paparazzi) with his girlfriend, Adriana Lima. Jaric enjoys spending time in his home country of Yugoslavia and Italy. Along with Tony Parker from the San Antonio Spurs, Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies and Andrei Kirilenko from the Utah Jazz, he served as a coach for “Basketball without Boarders,” a basketball camp for young people held in Treviso, Italy during the summer of 2003. Jaric also takes part in the teamwork at the table Thanksgiving event at St. Joseph’s Center in Venice where he helps distribute food baskets and turkeys to families.

NBA Denver Nuggets Carmelo Anthony Arrested on DWI
Posted by TSUE on April 17, 2008
Just when you thought the reign of celebrities and athletes getting arrested on DWI charges was over now reports have surfaced that NBA Denver Nuggets Carmelo Anthony has been arrested. The police said that he was pulled over for weaving and failing to dim the light on his Silver Mercedes. After a series of failed sobriety tests he was then taken to police headquarters and booked. The bizarre twist to the story is that the arresting officer and not his finance MTV Vee Jay (LaLa Vasquez) wound up giving him a ride back to the Denver Ritz Carlton. Later on that day Carmelo went on to score 11 points leading the Nuggets to the play-offs. A court date has been scheduled for May 14th, 2008. Since the arrest Carmelo has apologized to his fans, the Denver community, his teammates and the Nuggets organization for the distraction he caused.
