When the all-star players of Major League Baseball descend on New York City in mid-July to celebrate the New York Yankees and say good-bye to the current Yankee Stadium, the world’s largest interactive baseball attraction will be coming with them. From July 11-15, the DHL All-Star FanFest will mark its first visit to New York City in its 18-year history when it takes over the Jacob K. Javits Center for a five-day unrivaled experience for families and fans of all ages. This interactive baseball theme park will launch the 2008 Major League Baseball All-Star Week.

A once-in-a-lifetime experience capturing the thrills and excitement of baseball, DHL All-Star FanFest includes more than 40 interactive activities and historical exhibits such as life-size video batting cages and pitching cages, free autographs from Hall of Fame players and Major League Baseball legends, youth skills clinics taught by current and former MLB players and a historical look at the Negro League. More specifically, some of the exciting attractions at DHL All-Star FanFest include:

The Diamond – Located at the center of DHL All-Star FanFest, this attraction features daily clinics and appearances by MLB players, managers and other experts sharing their insider tips in baseball seminars and hands-on clinics.

Cyber Ballpark – Interactive attraction where you can test your gaming skills featuring the latest Major League Baseball video and computer games.

Steal Home Challenge – Fans test their speed and compete against other fans in this 90-foot race from third base to home plate.

FanFest Bullpen – Fans step up and test their pitching skills against life-sized video images of their favorite MLB sluggers in state-of-the-art video pitching cages.

Video Batting Cages – Fans can slug away at baseballs pitched by life-size images of Major League hurlers.

You Call the Play – Fans get a chance to sit at the microphone and record their own play-by-play of a famous baseball moment – and take home a recording of it as a souvenir.

Major League Baseball Legends – Fans can speak with past, present and future Major League legends. More than 40 players and coaches are expected to drop in throughout the event to sign free autographs.

Collector’s Showcase – Fans will be able to buy, sell and trade their own baseball cards and memorabilia.

FanFest Baseball Cards – Fans can get the ultimate portrait taken on one of the “Fan Fest Baseball Cards.” This classic card even comes with personalized stats on the back.

World’s Largest Baseball – See the Guinness Book of World Records holder signature ball that measures 12’ in diameter and features the signatures of baseballs greats like Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Nolan Ryan and others up close.

Hometown Heroes – Stories and images of Yankees’ baseball history and legends will be on display.

National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum – Largest exhibit on loan from Cooperstown, NY, featuring historic baseball memorabilia.

The Negro Leagues – A compelling visual journey back in time as “The Negro Leagues” brings to life the heroic history of some of the game’s proudest and most talented players.
