How to Be Single: The World Wide Webisodes

To launch on Tuesday, July 23 at

First stop: France

New York: The recently released novel, How to Be Single, by Liz Tuccillo (“Sex in the City”, He’s Just Not That Into You) is the story of Julie Jensen, a single, 38-year-old-woman who, tired of watching all her friends make mistake after mistake in their single dating lives, decides to travel the world to find out if anyone one out there is doing this “single thing” any better.

To get to the heart of being single and for research for her novel, Liz Tuccillo traveled the globe filming interviews with men and women about what it was like to be single in their cultures. Her stops included: Paris, Rome, Copenhagen, Rio De Janeiro, Beijing, Reykjavik, Sydney and Mumbai.

The result is How To Be Single: The World Wide Webisodes.  The non-fiction behind the fiction, the raw material that inspired the book, these webisodes are an emotional, unflinchingly honest, hilarious look at singledom all across the globe.  From the ridiculous to the sublime, there are countless surprises along the way: from the romantic Priest who is the head of family values at the Vatican, to the 70-year old leather clad couple who owns a sex club in Paris; to the two women in Mumbai talking about their happy arranged marriages, and the women in Beijing talking about the effect of “Sex and the City” on their culture.  Accompanied by Liz Tuccillo’s compassionate, cynical, probing and deeply amusing interview style, this is a trip around the world that ends up illuminating far more than just the international single scene. Following France, comes Brazil China (just in time for the Olympics), Denmark, Australia, India, Iceland and Italy

Liz Tuccillo has learned a thing or two about being single through the years, from her own experiences or from her time writing on the HBO hit series “Sex in the City,” to her hit book (with upcoming movie starring Gennifer Goodwin, Jennifer Connelly, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore and Ben Affleck)  He’s Just Not That Into You and now her new novel How to Be Single, Tuccillo has literally traveled the world looking for  the “singular” answer. As the summer continues to sizzle, please will consider an interview with the charming and very funny, Ms. Tuccillo who can discuss the various difference and similarities of living la vida solo around the world.

Jose Canseco’s New Tell All Book “Vindicated”

Jose Canseco book Vindicated

Is Jose Canseco’s new book the battle to save baseball or a way to seek revenge?

Quotes from Jose Canseco’s new book, ‘Vindicated’

“I’m confident it was the ‘roids (that made A-Rod buff). I believed it then, and I believe it now. I’ve been down this road too many times with too many guys. I know my (stuff), and I know the way it works. I may not have seen (A-Rod) do the deed, but I set the whole thing up for him, just like he wanted. I saw the changes in his body in a short time. Hell, if you ask me, I did everything but inject the guy myself.”

“The very next time Alex (Rodriguez) came over, he asked me, point blank, where one would go to get steroids if one wanted them. He was a cautious, cagey guy, Alex. He didn’t say, ‘I want to buy steroids. Can you point me in the right direction?’ Or, more accurately, as far as I’m concerned, he did say it, but not in those exact words.”

“After that, I didn’t see A-Rod for many years, not until long after my marriage had fallen apart, when I ran into him at a club in Los Angeles, and I got right to the point: ‘Why did you try to – – – my wife, Alex?’… So A-Rod, if you’re reading this book, and if I’m not getting through to you, let’s get clear on one thing: I hate your – – – guts.”

“I met Maggs (Magglio Ordonez) in 2001, when I was with the White Sox. … When it was all said and done, when Maggs had the information he needed, he told me he was in. A few days later, we went into the back room in the clubhouse, and I jabbed a needle into his butt. ‘Ow,’ he said. ‘That hurt.’ ‘You’ll get used to it,’ I said.”

“I admitted to Mike (Wallace, in 2005) that I had never seen Clemens shoot up, but that I had my suspicions. All those Cy Young Awards. The way he was throwing, hard and fast and steady, without seeming to break a sweat. The way he seemed to be getting stronger as he got older. What else could it be? Good genes? Hell, while most of Clemens’s peers were sitting on porches, in rocking chairs, with old dogs at their feet, he was still pitching rockets.”

Jose Canseco’s Loses $2.5 Million Dollar Mansion

Posted by TSUE on May 2, 2008

Former baseball player star Jose Canseco lost his 7,300 square-foot home in the suburb of Encino, LA to foreclosure.  Being one of the great baseball players of the major leagues it’s hard for many to believe that the once flamboyant U.S. baseball player has become a victim of the housing crisis.

In several interviews he was asked how this happened and he responded by saying his divorces and supporting all his family members played a big role in him owing more than 2.5 million dollars on his home.  He is currently live on about roughly $16 million a year and has another book out now called “Vindicated” and in the process of trying to make his previous book and current one into to movies.

Mr. Canseo isn’t exactly standing in line for welfare. Far from it…. If he keeps writing books about the steriod use in the National Baseball League he will eventually have enough funds to buy back his mansion.
