Derrick Coleman was hospitalized two weeks ago because of an irregular heart beat that began to plague him toward the end of his 10-year NBA career. At the moment he does not need to have a heart transplant according to his wife a former Nets executive. It may be a possibility down the road but for now his doctors are managing the condition. Their plan is to implant a defibrillator and monitor the results.
Coleman played at Syracuse University from 1986 to 1990 and still ranks second on the school’s all-time scoring list and first in rebounds. He was the No. 1 pick in the 1990 NBA Draft and played 15 pro seasons for the New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons.
For now Derrick is not in immediate danger which is a good sign. With the help of his family and friends I believe he will be just fine.

Durant, the national college player of the year at Texas and the No. 2 overall draft pick last year. He also averaged 20.3 points, 7.7 more than any other rookie and was the only rookie to lead his team in five categories — points, blocks, steals, free throws made and free throw percentage. Durant blocked more shots than any other guard in the league (75).

Former baseball player star Jose Canseco lost his 7,300 square-foot home in the suburb of Encino, LA to foreclosure. Being one of the great baseball players of the major leagues it’s hard for many to believe that the once flamboyant U.S. baseball player has become a victim of the housing crisis.
In several interviews he was asked how this happened and he responded by saying his divorces and supporting all his family members played a big role in him owing more than 2.5 million dollars on his home. He is currently live on about roughly $16 million a year and has another book out now called “Vindicated” and in the process of trying to make his previous book and current one into to movies.
Mr. Canseo isn’t exactly standing in line for welfare. Far from it…. If he keeps writing books about the steriod use in the National Baseball League he will eventually have enough funds to buy back his mansion.
